Welcome back after the heat wave! I'm glad you made it out okay! I'm not sure what instrument you used to create the water drop sound, but it's INCREDIBLE! The whole theme is gorgeous, but that detail adds so much atmosphere to the feel of the piece.

This is my final battle theme when I get reincarnated as a final boss in another world.

A sound wakes you up. After looking out the window, you manage to see some cloaked figures that don’t look to be from the village itself. Outsiders. You see them talk, you can’t put your ear into their conversations, or they’ll see you. However soon, they stop talking, and nod to each other. They take wooden sticks, and light them on red flames. And they begin to approach the cabins. You hide from the window, one of the cloaked figures doesn’t see you, thankfully. But you don’t have time to celebrate. You start to smell something burning.

Love the music, but dang. So I wish the base Story of Ghosts of Saltmarsh had a little more to do with Ghosts or such haha

I'm here because "Into the mists" was used in a Skyrim mod list, but wow, I didn't expect to like the rest as much as I did

Next session will be the last one of my homebrew sea faring campaign and even though I rarely use music (I default to ambiences usually), I will 100% put this up for the epilogue. Making my heart warm up.

I love this song, but I actually didn't use it as a "welcome to baldurs gate." This is almost a happy and upbeat song so instead of using it when they arrive at baldurs gate, I use it when they leave the vanthampur villa as a kind of "welcome to the real baldurs gate" having killed the vanthampurs and retrieved the shield, they plan to leave with it and stop baldurs gate from descending into avernus. So there is an air of "the city itself realizes it is safe and the atmosphere feels more welcoming."

I'm a bit late to the party but I just have to comment on how phenomenal this entire Soundtrack is, especially this piece. The repeating themes and motifs throughout the album really bring it all together. I love how in this you have all these ominous strings, with aggressive drumming and sad piano. Brass is brought in as the whole composition crescendos, when suddenly these small woodwinds somehow manage to cry out above all of the noise around it, almost like an act of defiance against the darkness that surrounds, refusing to be be silenced.

"Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look up at the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake… the Kraken!"

I'm planning on using this for the final combat encounter against Vampyr, after having used the rest of the soundtrack regularly throughout the campaign to establish the musical motifs (I also used Bloody Tears variations for Strahd combat, with the an Epic remix of that for the final battle against him). Hoping to get a "Live and Learn" vibe with "omg the song has lyrics??" and a somber, dark tone for the final battle.
